Ants' bodies are divided into three distinct parts: head, thorax, and abdomen. The thorax is joined to the abdomen by nodes. All ants have six legs, but only reproductive ants have wings.
The black carpenter ants are mostly a little larger than the average ant. It can up to 2.5 cm. They are also well known for their ability to damage wooden structures. These ants prefer building their nests in damp areas, rotting wood, etc. They feed on food crumbs, spilled food and are attracted by sugar.
Canada has over 100 species of ants, some of which are structure-damaging species and can take residence in or around your home.
Our highly experienced service professionals are insured, licensed and certified as well as being some of the very few recognized by the Ministère de L’Environnement du Québec.

Treating a Carpenter Ant Infestation Check all the damp wooden structures in your home. If this wood can be moved, such as firewood, it should be moved away from your land. To limit the damage, store food in airtight Tupperware® containers. Do not let residues of food on counters, in dirty dishes or on other surfaces where your food is stored because it attracts them.
